Search and filtering in a large catalogue
In a catalogue of several tens of thousands of items, search is not a helper tool but the main way of moving through the store. A customer who does not find the product on the first try rarely tries a second time - they go to a competitor.
Our search works over a dedicated index, separate from the store database. That is why results arrive as you type and the response time does not change as the catalogue grows.

What you actually get
Results while the customer types
Suggestions appear after the first few letters, with image, price and availability, so the customer often never opens the results page.
Tolerance for errors
A swapped letter or a missing character does not lead to an empty result. The search recognises what the customer meant to type.
Search by code and part number
Numbers are recognised in different notations, with spaces and dashes or without them - the way the customer copies them off an old plate or an invoice.
Filters from the specifications
Attributes entered as data automatically become filters, with the product count next to every value.
An index that follows the catalogue
A change to a product is reflected in search immediately, because the index refreshes in the background on every change.
Common questions
How many products can the search handle?
We build the solution for catalogues from a thousand items upwards, and the response time does not change even at several hundred thousand records.
Does the search understand diacritics?
It does, both with and without diacritical marks, and equally across different scripts and spellings of the same term.
Can particular products be promoted in the results?
They can. The order can be set so that products you want to push rank higher, without affecting the accuracy of the results.
What does the customer see when there are no results?
Suggestions of similar products and the nearest terms, instead of an empty page people leave from.
